Some roads getting lost in the infinite, solitary men wandering in a big nowhere like
Beckett, leafless and disturbing trees, planted on both sides of a desolate
road and that would be resembling the sky doors ... So many unusual motifs that Yannick
Cordemy, this fog-hunter, has in his spiritual photographs. As if he wanted to show what
the constant movement of our modern societies forbids to look at: a stopped world; a
slice of eternity that would have fallen into a fold of time. Yannick is a hunter of the
dawn, he tracks the fog and behind it, as if it gives access to another world, there is a
counter-story of the time that he unrolls from image to image, softly building a parallel
universe, conducive to daydreaming. These images do not impose anything, but they
predispose. They make possible meditative states of consciousness where one is literally
torn from the river of time to face the question of Being. Yannick Cordemy succeeds in
this tour de force, which consists of taking us on an ontic journey, a few steps from his
home, in the Melun area (Seine-et-Marne), giving photography and its equipment an
unexpected dimension: metaphysical dimension.
